Taiji Master Jasmine Tung Chan died on March 6th, 2009 at 5:30 AM

Master Alex Dong: I am so sorry for the loss of your great aunt.

Master Jasmine Tung was and continues to be my personal Taiji Hero.

Master Jasmine was the youngest child of the Dong (Tung) Taiji school founder Grandmaster Tung Ying Jie (Tung Ying Kit) and sister to Grandmaster Tung Hu Ling. She taught and practiced taiji for many years in Hong Kong and later also in Australia. Master Jasmine organized the first and only Dong/Tung Family reunion in November 2007. There are video clips of this event on the web site below and still pictures in my Photo Gallery.    Toni DeMoulin, March 7, 2009

The following is part of a memo written by Master Alex Dong to his students, "...As rest of the family taught Taiji around the world and sharing a family treasure, grand aunt Jasmine (know as aunt Jasmine) focused on promoting Taiji.  She was very active in China, Hong Kong and around the world as a international judge and she organized many of the big international martial art events in Hong Kong.  She recently received her certificate of 8th degree (Dan) master and became the second person and the only woman to reach this level in Hong Kong.  Of her many accomplishments, she is also the president of the Hong Kong Jin Wu association, the oldest martial art association..."

Dear Grace & Sylvain,
Master Jasmine has just passed away on 6th March, 5: 30 am. in hospital, nearly at the same time, her youngest daughter gave birth a baby girl in the same hospital.
I left the hospital just a few hours before she passed away. Her husband and all her children and grandchildren were at bed side. At last, she had rested in peace.
We are waiting for further news from her family. I will keep you updated.
Regards, Ellen
